1998 Joe Kinney became the first man ever to close the No. 4 Captains of Crush Gripper. He was over 40 years old, 5’10”, 171 pounds. Joe was 38-40 years old when he started working out.
2003 Nathan Holle, 6’3″, 185 pounds, 21 years old. He came from a family of vegetarian grip masters. His four brothers all closed the # 3 Captain Of Crush.
2003 David Morton was 6’3″, 270 lbs and 32 years old
He is also a Mash Monster Level 6
2004 Tommy Heslep was under 6 feet tall, about 175 pounds, 30 years old
2004 Magnus Samuelsson was 34 years old, 6’6″, 330 lbs, 24″ arms. World’s Strongest Man competitor since 1995… 1998 World’s Strongest Man champion. Was a European Armwrestling champion prior to his strongman career.
As you can see, Magnus Samuelsson is the only of our 5 grip masters who is an overall world-class strength athlete. The other 4 are all one-dimensional grip masters. And with the exception of David Morton, Samuelsson is the only one who look like a strongman. Kinney, Holle, and Heslep are all under 200 pounds.
