WWE Curtain Call

The night kayfabe was broken.

On May 1996 at a house show at the Madison Square Garden, New York, New York, United States. At a time where The Kliq (Shawn Michaels, Diesel, Razor Ramon, Hunter Hearst Hemsley, and 1-2-3 Kid) heavily influenced everything that happened in the WWF at the time. Two Kliq member, Diesel (Kevin Nash) and Razor Ramon (Scott Hall) were about to left for a lucrative in WCW.

After a cage match between then WWF World Champion Shawn Michaels and Diesel (Kevin Nash). Razor Ramon, Hunter Hearst Hemsley (Triple H / Paul Levesque) entered the steel cage for a mutual embrace with fellow Kliq members Shawn Michaels and Diesel. As you can heard in the video, the crowd went crazy cheering for this never-seen-before historical moment in pro wrestling history. But the authority backstage and veteran wrestlers like The Undertaker weren't pleased at all by this anthological moment of broken kayfabe.

Vince McMahon couldn't punish the departing Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Wasn't interested in punishing his darlin world champion Shawn Michaels. So the only one left to be punished was Triple H.

Triple H was about to be pushed as the 1996 King Of The Ring but the crown was given to Stone Cold Steve Austin instead. Which created Austin 3:16 "I just whipped your ass!" and the rest is history.

Thanks to the Kliq selfishness, Stone Cold Steve Austin had his moment to shine, became one of the most popular and lucrative wrestlers of all time, and probably saved the WWE from bankruptcy during the Monday Night War.
